After a disappointing experience at another deep dish pizza place, my party and I were excited to give deep dish another try. We were not disappointed! A member of my party and I shared the 9” plain cheese deep dish. The crust was perfectly golden brown and the mozzarella was hot and fresh. The 9” was enough for 2 people but probably would not be enough for 3. The customer service left a little to be desired but our waiter was kind enough to work with a difficult food allergy of a member in my party. He went back to the kitchen and helped to figure out a salad dressing that she could have with her salad. She wished that there was an option to add protein to the salad, but it was a decent salad nonetheless. I will probably return next time I’m in Chicago! Thank you Gino’s for a much better deep dish experience than our first this time in Chicago.
a month agoAMAZING food! WONDERFUL customer Service! Love the patio option. Our server was top-notch, super helpful, and took good care of us. She checked food allergy ingredients and made sure my dish was safe for me. Deep dish pizza takes about 40 minutes to bake from scratch, so prepare for a slow-paced meal. We came hungry and enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts and calamari. My family shared the meaty deep dish pizza and enjoyed it. My son got the XL spinach and artichoke pizza and would have eaten the whole thing, but he was "saving room for the deep dish brownie." The music was good, interesting sports games on the big screen TV, doors open to let in fresh air. Great ambiance. The ONLY downside is that the ladies' restroom is in SERIOUS need of attention 😕. One out of order sign that appears to have been there some time, with door duct-taped together. Only 1 working stall with giant hole, broken lock, paper on the floors, but it flushed. So at best it was functional. If the restroom were fixed, this would easily be a perfect score.
3 months agoFirst time trying Chicago pizza and it wasn't bad but I felt it came up a bit short. Appetizers, pizza and service were good but nothing out of the ordinary. It does take 45 minutes for a deep dish to come out and they do not hold up well for reheats as the crust gets super soggy. I'm also not from Chicago so I don't know if its normal but there didn't seem to be AC at the restaurant, or at least not strong enough to cool the place so it was a bit warm, granted I went in the summer. Overall it was a good experience but it wasn't a place to remember.
4 months agoEverything you look for in a local bar. Great food, good drinks, excellent service and fun people. Lots of TVs for watching sports, they put on formula 1 for us which we really appreciated. The Diavola pizza was amazing and showed us that Chicagoans do actually eat spicy food, just not at Mexican restaurants
a week agoExcellent thin crust and deep dish pizzas. The service at the bar was fantastic both nights I had dinner here. Prices are reasonable given the prices of meals in Chicago. It was not crazy busy on Thursday or Saturday night.
